Plastic bags should be banned specially on junk foods and also on commercial products.
Plastic bags should be banned to packet junk food and also on other commercial products. Plastic is non-bio-degradable and thus causes pollution; as it cannot be recycled, burning plastic diffuses harmful smoke. Plastic also emits some radiation. Plastic bags can prove to be a choke hazard for small animals and people. Plastic water bottles are also thought to be carcinogenic.

People should use recycled bags to carry shopping
By using recycled and reusable bags to carry shopping not only will we be helping the environment but also making goods cheaper. Market owners will save millions by not having to buy plastic bags for costumers. Besides that, there are already good quality and fashionable shopping bags to be sold.
Do you carry recycled bags ?
So you save the market place and hurt it at the same time. First off, you missed the point of the debate. They are talking about plastics used to packet foods (Like chocolate bars im assuming). This means that these companies that manufacture these items would have to raise the price of their candies which are already seen as expensive. This could potentially destroy some businesses out there and could a) destroy jobs and b) hurt these markets you feel would actually benefit but wont really
Many supermarkets offer bags for life.
All commercial places should use bags made form recyclable material. However, many supermarkets offer what are sometimes called 'bags for life'. Some supermarkets sell hessian shopping bags at reasonable prices which are ideal for packing heavy products like tins or boxes with sharp corners which would tear and split regular bags. They also replace the bags that have become worn over time. I've seen more and more shops sell shopping bags which even come with tiny cases for them to be carried in a handbag and used when needed. They can be plain and simple or really fashionable and personalised. They clearly are a good thing as you see many shoppers with reusable bags hooked on their trolly. If you do forget to take them with you on a supermarket shop, you can always collect plastic bags and use them to line a small bin or check out if anywhere recycles plastic bags near you. Most supermarkets offer plastic bags anyway, but some have completely stopped offering them or at least are charging 5p. This is beneficial as it forces people to remember to take a shopping bag with them otherwise they'll have to buy one. It would be great if all commercial places did this as it would quickly create a culture where it becomes common sense to take a bag with you when you go out to do some shopping.
invalid arguement. The discusions is on the actual wrappings of "junk fod" not the bags you use at a super market
A paper bag isn't durable enough for heavy shopping. A cloth bag is expensive and unhygienic, as people reuse them without washing them enough (repeated washes wear down cloth bags). A box would be too awkward to carry.
^^^ real talks bro
Junk food isnt currently wrapped in paper bags, Junk food is currenty wrapped in cloth bags, Junk food is not typically packaged in boxes, though some are. But none-the-less, using a different method besides the cheap plastic packaging would in turn hurt the businesses (possibly to folding down and shutting doors). This hurt would remove jobs and hurt the market
If you bought less at a time or brought more people along to carry things, weight wouldn't be as much of an issue. To improve hygiene, you could take care not to spill food and you could make a note of what you store in each bag (maybe have specific bags for specific things so you don't, for example, put dirty clothes in with food). A box would be okay to carry if you took your time.
What do you think?
