THE UBS Cambridge Union Schools Debating Competition
Learn how to win any argument from some of the best university debaters in the world, and get a chance to speak in the world-famous Cambridge Union Chamber alongside a Boris Johnson or Jeremy Paxman by entering the Cambridge Schools Competition, open to all Year 7-13 students across the UK.
Whether a student interested in public speaking or the world around them, a teacher or concerned parent, getting involved is very easy, and is certainly worth doing - debating makes students more confident personally, more persuasive public speakers and benefits all logic based academic work, as well as looking great on CVs and personal statements.

Are you at high school and want to win a trip to the 2009 UN Foundation Youth Leadership Summit in New York? If so, you should probably enter the competition organised by The People Speak

- Register your school: www.thepeoplespeak.org/register
- Hold a debate about a plan to combat climate change. Do so in a public setting. One team of two students will argue in favour of your plan; the other team will argue against it.
- Organize activities and publicity about the TPS activity in your community
- Earn TPS Points
- Be a top-point earner and win a spot at the Youth Leadership Summit in July 2009!
