Yes, because... The couple represent an inspirational, balanced partnership
The historic day when Barack Obama became President inspired thousands of people across the world. He has campaigned tirelessly with the support of his wife and children. Together, they represent an inspirational, balanced partnership. He works hard attempting to correct the economy and all the other things wrong with the world, whilst she completes an equally difficult job, raising their children.
What makes one working parent and the other ‘stay-at-home’ balanced? Surely she would have been more inspirational holding down a job and successfully bringing up her children? Other couples manage to do it: it does not make them ‘unbalanced’.
