depends on where to build. If it's on developing country then its ok but must emphasise on safety details..
typing error.. (developed actually the word i was intend to use)
Why should a developing country be ok if it is not ok for a developed country? The most developed countries are most likely to be able to afford the best technology and the best safety standards for nuclear power. When there is a problem then they will be most likely to have the resources to clean it up.
Developing countries on the other hand are much more likely not to have the relevant technology or experience and so are more likely to have safety problems.
to help reduce the enviromental natural disaster..
nuclear bear other alternative that helps us to reduce the effect of natural disaster that have and would arise, if we prolong the use of renewable energy sources, e.g petrol, coal, natural gas
We should invest in real alternatives now. I suggest the author move to Japan in a few years to the see the effects of nuclear energy. It's not a matter of if, but when disasters will occur when we are talking about nuclear power.
In the mean time, current plants should be maintained, but we need real leaders to address true alternatives.
Cold fusion variants (LENR) must be developed as soon as possible.
Cheaper than windfarms.
With the increased knowledge of reactors I feel these should be used instead of expensive part time propellors which have to have new power stations to be built alongside anyway. It defeats the object, and does not deliver the goods, and at great expense.
not cost effective
And, if one were to melt down it would be worse than any oil spill, or natural disaster. It also would linger in the affected area making it uninhabitable for many years. The residual radiation would kill people, plants, and other living things. e.g. Chernobyl will not be inhabitable for a long time. 75 to 100+ years to be exact.
What do you think?
