Rugby League is a more skilled game than Rugby Union

Yes because... No because...

England RFU

The national side use the cross-code players because they offer much more to the game of rugby union.

Some players offer the speed and skill to deliver the ball quickly and effectively. It also means they are therefore much fitter and can last the game longer.

I beg to differ, rugby union is more skilled because there are so many more areas that require a certain skill, such as scrummaging ( something that is non existant in rugby league) and the ruck.

The variety of talents and skills that are required for rugby union is vast, and to excel in union your skills have to be suitable to the specific position you wish to play. Whereas in rugby league, the matter of position is close to irrelevant. And to excel in league at the highest level you need to fulfill the 2 or 3 ideal models that can play throughout a team.
