Yes because... No because...

Insensitivity towards the 9-11 victims

The victims of the 9-11 tragedy have not recovered or forgotten the terrors and fears of the 9-11 event. If the Cordoba House is to proceed, then what they are incurring is an immense volume of pain and grief to the victims. Even if Islam does not agree to the 9-11 attacks, those attacks were committed in the name of Islam. And building mosques is a symbol of Muslim conquest, thus the Cordoba House will not serve its purpose to ' spread peace', instead it will be a painful reminder towards all non-Muslims, especially the families of victims of 9-11 of the tragedy that happened. What it might point out is the Muslim conquest of Ground Zero, and Muslim terrorists may find pride in this. It is a sign of victory.

The building of a mosque signifies the Islamisation of Ground Zero.

Therefore, an Islamic cultural centre should not be built near ground zero in order to avoid religious and cultural outbreak and more chaos. The memory of 9-11 should be protected and not violated.
