Liverpool FC has been bought, will it help?

Liverpool has been hit by crisis over the last couple of years with a campaign from fans wanting the owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, to get out. They have been blamed for loading the club with debt and as a result not putting enough money into the club leading to poor results on the field. Well now the fans have what they want the club has been sold. It has gone to the owners of the Boston Red Sox baseball team after a boardroom battle. But with Liverpool in the relegation zone can it help?

Liverpool FC has been bought, will it help?

Yes because... No because...

Liverpool make a lot of profit. Under the previous ownership that profit was being used to pay debts

...Which created by the owners in order to buy the club in the first place. Now the profits will go to the club.
However, only teams with unlimited funds are likely to win the premiership in the future - and LFC do not have unlimited funds.
The real problem is how to finance football without the money invested making what happens on the pitch more fair. I propose a cap on wages, a limit on transfer costs and a ban on premiership clubs buying each others players under the age of 28. How can a sport be competitive when the richest simply destroy the poorest by buying all of their best players?

Liverpool FC has been bought, will it help?

Yes because... No because...

Liverpool are in millions of pounds of debt due to American owners. The new owners are no different.

We Know that the new owners are experienced due to their success with the Boston Red Sox. Who had not won the major league baseball series in 48 years. The Red Sox then won the series within 5 years of NESV's buyout. If that success can be emulated, then I'm sure there will be no regrets!

Liverpool FC was filled with optimism when they were bought by American billionaires. However, they were soon plunged into masses of debt. The new owners are no different and are just as inexperienced. How can we trust them not to further increase Liverpool's debts.
