Should Jon Venables be given another new (tax payer funded) identity?
It has been reported that Jon Venables, one of the killers of the toddler Jamie Bulger in 1993, will be given a new identity when he leaves prison. This will be the second time that Venables will be given a new identity, at the cost of £250,000 to the tax payer.
Should Venables, who is currently back in prison for posing as a mother willing to sell her daughter for sex in return for child pornography, be protected by a new identity?
Should Jon Venables be given another new (tax payer funded) identity?Yes because... No because...
The Law Is A Ass!
The headline refers, of course, to the beadle in Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.
I think it holds true in this day and age. In Dickens' time Jon Venables would have been hanged. A harsh sentence you may think but imagine, Jon gets a 2 year sentence and a new identity, (courtesy of the British tax payer), and is then re-located.
He might be living in an area near you, would your children be safe?.
No. I think or feel that Jon is a murderer, a junkie, a pervert, violent, probably a thief, (he'd make an ideal football player in the England squad).
I also feel that the judge who handed out the sentence should be charged with aiding and abetting, after all, it's these people who are supposed to be protecting us, not them.
He is now fully aware of the law, (and how it protects him), and was aware about right and wrong when he murdered James Bolger, so, if he is released then WE, the public, should know what he looks like, what his new name is and where he is. Otherwise he should be locked up for life (and by that i mean he should die in prison).
Harsh?, I don't think it is, it's just the law that is 'A Ass'.
How do you feel?.
