DEBATE: THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOULD END ITS IMPERIALIST FOREIGN POLICY.

The presence of American troops all over the globe has created none other than lots of the problems not only to the people of the countries where the GIs are sent but also America itself. The White House would intervene only when the Senate sees the benefits for the USA. The nuclear issue or WMD is one of the best examples of its bad policy. Everyone knows Israel has nuclear weapons and other forms of killing device (WMD). The White House would turn deaf and blind whenever the issue is brought up in th UN assembly. Look at what has happened to Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan (before and after US' intervention) etc. Its bias policy is the mother of all terrorist acts around the world. Labelling other people as terrorists will never solve the problem.

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOULD END ITS IMPERIALIST FOREIGN POLICY.

It is a new breed of colonialism.

All kinds of excuses created just to justify its actions: to fight terrorism, to restore democracy, human rights, etc. In the end, the GIs would be stationed to the countries that benefit the USA in aspects: economy and politics; everyone sees what happens - the Phillipines, Guatemala, Grenada, Middle East, South Korea and Europe...

We just like the Arabs invite them in.

While people hate the U.S they love the U.S also.

The majority of the world has spent half its life on American movies, sitcoms, novels, graphic novels, songs, comic strips etc, drawing on American entertainment fondly/felielly. It is not colonisation when the people being colonised supposedly are asking for it and vie to be American/Americanized

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOULD END ITS IMPERIALIST FOREIGN POLICY.

The policy has killed the real democracy in other countries.

The USA will support anyone who supports its policy and interests; it doesn't matter whether he or she is a corrupt and evil. This has been shown to be the case all over the world, if democracy may result in an unfavourable result then it is condemned - take Hamas. Throughout the cold war democracy mattered much less than if a country was on the side of 'freedom'. Freedom could of course mean dictatorship replacing a democratically elected government if they happened to be supporting the wrong side. This was the case with Pinochet overthrowing Allende in Chile.

You can only kill something that is alive in the first place. Afghanistan was not a thriving.moralistic,corruption-free democracy before U.S intervention and still isn't.

the U.S has not caused this state of affairs,

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOULD END ITS IMPERIALIST FOREIGN POLICY.

It is regarded as bias and suffocating policy.

Because of this policy, some nice people become terrorists; it induces hatred among the people; see what happened to 911; the shoe-bomber; sucide bombers; the Al-Qaeda.

Are you insinuating that terrorists are nice?? killing innocent/passive civilian populations under any circumstances is not 'nice' : People consider your reaction to these 'nice' terrorists blowing you or your kith and kin up.

Point being, being educated and clean cut does not make you 'nice'. Murderers, thieves, rapists, terrorists and the like come from all economic strata of society including the 'upper crust' but that does not make them nice.

Killing people who had no active role in the predicament of their grievances is not just, not right, unacceptable, illogical and evil/cruel .

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOULD END ITS IMPERIALIST FOREIGN POLICY.

The proof is in the History

America cannot deny that their Foreign Policy (FP) is imperialist. They sneered at the UK in the 1800's for colonialism but then proceeded to annexe Guam, phillipines and Panam Canal under USA control. No wonder people are uneasy about their dominant presence in Haiti. It's the same thing they did in Cuba as well. They used the unrest of the rebellion to kick out the Spanish and moved into Cuba. Cuba had to go through another rebellion just to get free.

I agree that America bossy FP does not help them. People don't like being told what to do. When you squash them by ordering them to live by your rules, they just get angry. They want to be left alone, but America has a history of telling smaller nations that "That Uncle Sam knows best."

I also agree that America aggravates terrorism. If you support the ludicrous decision made in the Middle East in the late forties, what do you expect. I don't agree that international terrorism is the way to go for such countries, but that's another debate. The point is that America is just a big, dumb sleeping bear if it thinks that swatting the fly or sitting on it will make people listen. The fly either returns in one way or another.

I really hope obama does not go barking up the Empire tree. Because as far as I'm concerned Empire=Enemies

That the USA was imperialist in the 19th Century and early 20th Century does not mean that it is still imperialist. Back then the USA like the other colonial powers had colonies where there was a native majority ruled over by a colonial administration brought in from outside. Today this is generally not the case, overseas territories are democratically part of the USA. Although the US has immense power and influence it is not ruling over other nations.
