DEBATE: ENGLAND GOT AN EASY DRAW FOR THE WORLD CUP

England has been drawn against USA, Slovenia and Algeria in the world cup. This seems like an easy group. It is certainly not a group of death. However if a team wants to win the world cup they have to face the difficult teams eventually so does it matter?

ENGLAND GOT AN EASY DRAW FOR THE WORLD CUP

Easy draw but England will still lose

That's the word on the street.

Fans are disheartened/dismayed by England's losing streak over the years.

England will lose even when it's a walk in the park to the rest of the world.

Even when the team is up against the 'easiest teams' to win against,(The American team didn't even exist last year and the other too are marginal/obscure/perhaps-even-mediocre)

Yes, the draw is laughably easy and England will lose on cue.

[1]

Why would England lose after such an easy draw and no English fans to fritter with (tarnish or inflate) their egos?

England will feel none of the 'golden generation' pressure that they usually get from English fans, or the pressure of being harassed by throngs of drunk aggressive English people, and will therefore concentrate on the game, keeping their eyes/feet/heads/whatever-else on the ball.

And America looks like a strong contender: Hardly an 'easy' team to play with.

ENGLAND GOT AN EASY DRAW FOR THE WORLD CUP

Not an easy draw at all

It is an easy draw and England will win because:

A) Charlize Theron is gorgeous

B) Millions of fans are weaving circles around bonfires burning English players' posters, chanting a wonderful mantra that will ensure English victory.

C) England, Lambart especially have been working/training harder than ever, the aging 'golden generation' need one last victory to be remembered by before they retire; indefinitely.

ENGLAND GOT AN EASY DRAW FOR THE WORLD CUP

No teams can be under-estimated

First, the whole motion of the argument underpins why it is wrong. If England has such an 'easy' draw, then obviously there is a lot of room for complacency. Complacency while playing will simply make it a harder draw than originally thought. Second, the other teams still qualified for the World Cup, so all of them will be a force to be reckoned with.
