should the driving age be rasied to18

I personally think it shouldn’t be raised to18, not because I am almost 16 but some children have to help there mom and dad get around because there older brother or sister has gone to college or moved out and had a life of their own.

should the driving age be rasied to18

Yes because... No because...

involved in more accidents

Younger drivers are at a higher risk of being involved in accidents "each day Britain’s roads see four fatalities or cases of serious injury resulting from accidents involving young drivers... the country’s eighteen-year-olds cause 50 collisions a day, nearly three times as many as drivers in their fifties."[[Gill Montia, Young drivers cause 50 accidents a day, Insurance Daily, 19th March 2008, http://www.insurancedaily.co.uk/2008/03/19/young-drivers-cause-50-accidents-a-day/ So if anything the minimum age for driving needs to be made higher than 18. A one year increase is a good start but does not go far enough.

It's not that the younger drivers are more prone to accidents, it's that inexperienced drivers are more prone to accidents. Raising the age limit would just have children waiting two more years to get behind the wheel, and probably won't reduce the amount of accidents in younger people substantially.

Yes because... No because...

Younger drivers are more irresponsible

Most of the drivers out here who are under the age of 25 are the higher risk category for accidents and higher insurance premiums for their parents. If teen and young adult drivers saw how much it cost to insure them to drive they would not be out there driving like brainless idiots. I have seen so many teen and young adult drivers who are out there racing carelessly on the streets and highways cutting off other cars and coming close to causing accidents and not having much regards for personal and public safety. I see drivers out there everyday especially the younger ones driving wrecklessly and showing no regards for their own safety and the safety of others. If these drivers had to see how it is to lose their driver's license for a couple years they would think long and hard about driving safely and having regards for personal and public safety.

<< The mass generation of teens do not see the value in money. Them knowing how much it costs means nothing to them unless they have to pay for it all. As for the crazy driving, their are a lot of older people driving like idiots as well. I see it happen all the time. The only reason you're blaming kids is because your bias view of their carelessness. The only reason kids are known more for such behavior is because they generally lack the experience, make a mistake and cause an accident, where as the older folk are more aware.

The reason why drivers under 25 are the higher risk is because of the simple fact of inexperience then the privilege to purchase and consume alcohol.

As stated above, raising the driving age only raises the age from 16-25 to 18-27. You're just prolonging 2 years, and with that mind set we may as well say no one can drive because it would be safer.

should the driving age be rasied to18

Yes because... No because...

yes it should

yes it should be because there are big classes in drivers ed .and some teens can get through without really learning. and when you make the age higher the students can really learn and when you are letting. uneducated drivers on the road you are risking theirs and others lives.

Speaking of uneducated: New sentences start with capital letters.

By your logic, we should not start pre-school until 18. If we are so incapable of learning until said age, why do we start 15 years earlier?

should the driving age be rasied to18

Yes because... No because...

I disagree...

It's true that there are high accidents in kids sixteen to seventeen, but this isn't because of age so much as experience. If the driving age was raised to eighteen, there would be more deaths aged eighteen to nineteen.

should the driving age be rasied to18

Yes because... No because...

It should not be raised to 18

The driving age should not be raised to 18. The raise would only delay the inexperienced driver access behind the wheel. Think about it like this, if a driver at the age of 16 has no driving experience, how would the raising of the age restricition make it any better. It wouldn't it would just put 18yr old inexperienced drivers on the road.
